Three New Short Stories
A number of people have asked me explain how to read my book. So I have added this guide below.
This 'book' is an e-book [a digital manuscript] and it can be read - not downloaded and printed out like a .pdf - on a device called an e-Reader [e = electronic].
The most well-known reader is the Kindle. This is a thin portable, lightweight, electronic reading device about the size of a paperback that is used via Wi-Fi to download and read books, newspapers or magazines to either a black&white easy to read no glare face, or colour. It can hold well over 1,000 books.
You do not need to own a Kindle for with this link below you can download the Free Amazon app [application] to your computer, smartphone, or tablet - iPad, Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy, Windows 8, or any device etc. and read digital books there.

Australian Adventure series
These stories are part of a series which I started when I was a primary school teacher at the Armidale Waldorf School, in Australia. They centre around the lives of four young people who go on adventures together.
I wrote them to give meaning and adventure to the subject we were studying at the time. For example in the second story, The Yowie, it was to do with what is called in the Waldorf schools curriculum, Home Surroundings. The growing child, lives at home, and gradually begins to explore the world around him/her, expanding over the years to take in the whole country, the world and all the different cultures and languages.
It all started up at Lightning Ridge late one September, (though the children might not have agreed with that), when Dad’s ship finally came home after many hard years waiting, and found the rush beyond his dreams. He and his two offsiders were all but going to throw in the towel, for it was beginning to heat up out on the Ridge, when they came across this pocket and there it was, the rare and much sought after black opal, the red on black. They took the load of earth out to the dam to wash and sieve it and although they tried to play it down it was obvious to others who were there that Pete della Gracia had struck the big time….
Way out of town at his home in the bush Rohan rose early after having had a sleepless night. In the time before the day broke he had thought of his three friends and the adventures they had been on. He had a quick breakfast then whistled up Sky, his dog who was snug in his kennel, not being allowed in the house these days, grabbed his bike and rode down to the creek. All was silent there and mist hung about though the sun was already dispersing it.
Horses are beautiful creatures, wild or not. Treat them kindly. Not everyone does. What can they do?
The four friends go to stay on Anika’s family sheep and cattle station where they discover an illicit culling of brumbies and some other strange happenings.
